Camping in Tucson

We headed out on Friday for a weekend camping trip.  Since we were "car camping" we decided to pack the mini-van for its first trip into the mountains.  We stayed at a beautiful State Park in Tucson.  The AZ Trail went through the Campground so there was good hiking.  We were at 4400 ft elevation so it was colder than home.  No bears but we did see two deer.

The girls had a blast (which means so did Mom and Dad).  Maggie has already started asking about marshmallows and Maura wants to know when we are going camping again.  We can't wait to have some friends join us for the next trip.

Some things the girls would tell you
Maura: "there was this flying bug in our play tent" (a HUGE crane fly or whatever they are called).
Maggie: "Mommy, I want more marshmallows"
Maggie: "Mi-Mi and ya-ya"...just like at home
Maura: "I'll hold my pee" (to avoid the restroom and the pit below the potty...actually she got more comfortable with the restrooms...that pit was scary to mommy too)
Maura: "Camping is fun"
Mommy: "Boy, the girls are dirty!"
