Camping

Some new friends of ours were going camping this weekend and Rob was super excited for us to go too. So, Saturday morning we packed up the kids and the car...yes, check out our car for one night of camping.

Off we headed for a 2 hour drive north to Woods Canyon Lake. We left Phoenix and it was high 80s and arrived just after lunch in Heber, AZ to 60 degree temps. We immediately changed from shorts into pants and long sleeves.

Maura and dad found our marshmallow stick after sitting up the tent and then it was into the dirt. Yes, little Nicholas is pouring dirt on his leg. There are no showers at this place...Jose and Maura had a lot of fun playing king and princess.

Maggie didn't adjust so well...she was not happy from the moment we arrived. This is how she spent the weekend...with "Me-me" and "ya-ya" and her mommy.

(Thank goodness for baking soda and the washing machine because Me-Me wasn't so recognizable by the end of the trip.)

It was a chilly 45 degrees when we woke up this morning. It was overcasted and about to rain around 10am so we hit the road home. It didn't take long before both girls were sound asleep again. It was a fun trip (even if it was cold) and made me feel like it was Fall.
